WHO WE ARE
Focus Points serves primarily young, low-income, Spanish-speaking immigrant families in northeast and north central Denver through family-literacy programming. This consists of adult education (English as a Second Language, Adult Basic Education and Spanish GED classes); parenting information and workshops; Early Childhood Education in home- and center-based settings and Parent and Child Together activities in both our center and the homes of over 150 families with more than 200 children ages birth through five.
In Fiscal Year 2008, over 1,200 adults enrolled in our adult education classes at our center and in neighborhood schools and libraries. Our home-based parenting programs consist of the Parents as Teachers (PAT) and Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY) curricula. The need is tremendous; we have waiting lists for all of our services.
