Title:   CRSP Coordinator

Reports to: Manager of Adult Education

Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt, Salaried

Salary: $38,000

Mission of Focus Points Family Resource Center:  To build better communities by strengthening families.  

Scope of Organization: For nearly 25 years, Focus Points has worked successfully to transform the lives of low-income and working families in Northeast Denver and beyond. Focus Points serves over 2,000 participants each year, most of whom are Spanish-speaking immigrants. Focus Points is committed to: 

  • School readiness programs to open doors to future success. 
  • Family literacy and adult self-reliance programs to facilitate independence. 
  • Healthy living and health access programs to promote active, vibrant living.  
  • Parent engagement and community leadership to foster empowerment; and 
  • Economic and workforce training and development to support financial independence and community stability. 



  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
  • Experience with refugee/asylee populations


*Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Competency in using Microsoft Office programs and internet-based computer programs required
  • Competency in synchronous and asynchronous methodologies for either hybrid or completely remote classrooms
  • Experience and competency in using digital platforms for team trainings and/or virtual intakes
  • Experience working with low-income refugee families from diverse communities
  • Critical thinking skills to provide creative solutions to challenging, multi-faceted problems
  • Ability to work well with other team members
  • Good organizational skills and a positive attitude



  • Register and assess refugee programming eligible students for ELA classes
  • Communicate with refugee agencies about new students/referrals
  • Conduct outreach to refugee agencies and other refugee serving organizations and within refugee dense neighborhoods
  • Track and report attendance to various stakeholders
  • Update and maintain student data in multiple databases
  • Maintain communication with various partners
  • Attend CRSP meetings as needed
  • Provide any resources or referrals for students if possible
  • Create and maintain student files
  • Coordination with Resettlement Agencies for referrals and warm handoffs
  • Complete all required CRSP trainings
  • Maintain records of CRSP staff’s required trainings and advise of renewals needed
  • Refugee Intake
    • Identify verification and eligibility for CRSP services
    • Assessment
    • Placement
  • Assist with lead instructors in planning and participating in outreach efforts throughout the year, but especially leading up to Spring/Fall/Summer enrollment
  • Work with transitions and lead instructors to ensure all student forms, goals check-ins and class changes are updated and recorded
  • Provide all learners with a safe and appropriate learning environment; offer classroom accommodations and/or refer learners to Learning Needs Coordinator (Delta Donohue) as needed and appropriate
  • Accumulate professional development hours per semester and complete all required forms
  • Attend workshops, trainings and meetings as requested by the Manager of Adult Education
  • Contact any learner that has missed more than 2 consecutive classes
  • Provide support in the registration, testing and retention of ELA learners
  • Keep the Manager informed of all pertinent information
  • Submit timesheets for payroll before deadlines
  • Adhere to all organizational policies including submitting time-off requests well in advance of time-off needed
  • Ensure classroom space is kept organized
  • Maintain a professional attitude and adhere to a high level of confidentiality towards Focus Points staff and participants


  • Information Gathering – Record student attendance and referrals into GENEVA. Log feedback when necessary, in order to provide timely and accurate accounts of class activity. Pull reports when needed for grant purposes.
  • Written Communication – Utilize email, digital data tracking platforms, and classroom planning materials (such as lesson plans) in order to report progress and needs for each class.
  • Decision Making/Judgement- Ability to manage classroom dynamics to ensure a safe and equitable learning environment for all.
  • Interpersonal Skills – Ability to control and express one’s emotions in a judicious and empathetic manner, both in the classroom and with team members and other staff, in order to productively contribute to the team and lead classroom dynamic.
  • Computer Skills –Ability to navigate and troubleshoot Microsoft Office suite products (particularly Word and Excel and Google classroom), and various internet browsers. Have knowledge of efficiency shortcuts (like bookmarks), and demonstrate professional email etiquette, etc., in order to plan curriculum and teach students these technical skills. Exhibit proficiency in subject areas and be able to share knowledge in order to meet learning objectives.
  • Time Management –Create and execute effective lessons within the time limit of the class.



  • Bilingualism– Ability to communicate intake and class entrance instructions in at least one other language than English to support linguistic justice for our non-English speaking participants and ensure equitable access to information and social capital.
