Reports to: Chief of Program Operations

Provides Supervision to: PAT Parent Educators and Organization Volunteers

Status: Full Time Salaried, Exempt

Starting Salary: $48,000 – $53,000 annually; paid bi-weekly

Scope of Organization: Since 1995, Focus Points has worked successfully to transform the lives of low-income and working families in Northeast Denver and beyond. Focus Points serves over 2,000 participants each year, most of whom are Spanish-speaking immigrants. Focus Points is committed to: 

  • School readiness programs to open doors to future success. 
  • Family literacy and adult self-reliance programs to facilitate independence. 
  • Healthy living and health access programs to promote active, vibrant living.  
  • Parent engagement and community leadership to foster empowerment; and 
  • Economic and workforce training and development to support financial independence and community stability. 

Position Summary:

The Parents As Teachers (PAT) Manager will be certified in the PAT program model and will ensure the delivery the PAT curriculum into the homes of our Spanish speaking families with children ages 0-3 years old. This position is responsible for meeting program fidelity, program, and grant expectations, following the guidance of Focus Points’ Chief of Program Operations. Parent Possible, and PAT national office. Experience working with immigrant, low-income, and diverse families is required. The candidate for this position also requires receiving additional training and professional development in areas related to working with families, team supervision, and be flexible with changing circumstances.

Essential Functions:

  • 28 hours PAT Program Management including participation in Focus Points’ Community Advisory
    Committee as a part of PAT Blue Ribbon requirements
  • 12 hours managing home visitation event planning and volunteer needs
  • Attend training certification of the Foundational and Model Implementation of the PAT curricula within the first 30 days of employment, often out of state.
  • Serves as support for PAT Parent Educators with program implementation, including conducting home visits when necessary.
  • Ensures accuracy of data collection and to adhere to funder and program requirements and deadlines, including Visit Tracker and SalesForce databases, in addition to other database systems required by individual funders. This includes the creation and usage of multiple reporting systems utilizing databases and Microsoft Office programs
  • Assists in the preparation of federal, state, foundation and corporate grant requests by providing information towards narrative, goals, and budget proposals.
  • Establishes program goals, objectives, outcomes and assessment of strategies developed to meet funder and program requirements in collaboration with Chief of Program Operations.
  • Creates and manages yearly program budget.
  • Coordinates home visitation (PAT & HIPPY) event logistics in collaboration with Chief of Program Operations, among other departments.
  • Builds relationship of support and mutual respect with all PAT families, program partner organizations, and other Focus Points program participants.
  • Utilizes network of internal Focus Points departments and external partner organizations to coordinate resources and referrals for program families.
  • Serves as a representative of the PAT program and Focus Points within the community and early
    childhood space.
  • Cultivates a supportive and responsive relationship with state and national offices and other PAT
    programs to receive program guidance, provide feedback, and create a supportive PAT network.
  • Conducts hiring, training, and performance evaluations and goals for PAT Parent Educators and ensures adherence to Human Resources policies, procedures and deadlines.
  • Supervises, mentors, and supports PAT Parent Educators in the recruitment, implementation and
    caseload maintenance of the program.

  • Understands and agrees to follow all policies, procedures and protocols set forth in the Focus Points Employee Handbook and Parents as Teachers Policies and Procedure manual.
  • Flexibility of schedule including some evenings and weekends.

Credentials, Experience and Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education or commensurate experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED, required.
  • One to two years of program management experience.
  • One to two years supervisory experience required.
  • Proficiency in database management (SalesForce and Visit Tracker) preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to communities of color, Latinx, Immigrant, Refugee, and Asylum-seeking populations.
  • Commitment to participate in anti-racist work.

Required Competencies:

  • Management – Ability to organize, supervise, and facilitate tasks amongst staff, participants, and partners to effectively deliver quality programming and community relationship building.
  • Training & Instructing – Ability to implement, maintain and update the PAT curriculum based on participant needs, while adhering to the highest industry standards of home visitation.
  • Written and Oral Communication – Ability to effectively communicate thoughts, ideas, and plans in written and verbal forms to ensure quality drafting of standard operating procedures, detailed coordination of events, and a high level of participant service
  • Record Keeping and Monitoring – Ability to track, and analyze data for participant curriculum and program evaluation, financial reporting, inventory management, and grant development to provide comprehensive monthly program updates.
  • Critical Thinking and Reasoning – Ability to use inductive and deductive reasoning along with prioritization and physical resources to confront and overcome complex program challenges.
  • Category Flexibility – Ability to shift between work modalities like hands-on training with staff and
    administrative office tasks to meet the variety of work environments and demands of the position.
  • Technology – Ability to independently create documents, presentations, spreadsheets, and
    communicate over various electronic platforms (such as Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, Zoom, and Teams) to effectively share information with staff, participants, and partners in digital formats.
  • Bilingual & Biliterate in Spanish Language – Advanced oral and written Spanish to support linguistic justice for Spanish speaking participants and ensure equitable access to information and social capital.

  • Management of Financial Resources – Ability to create a budget and manage revenue and expenses to effectively match financial resources to needs for positive program outcomes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid Driver’s license and reliable transportation to perform home visitation audits
