At Centro de recursos familiares Focus Points, the weekly Mercado de agricultores de Huerta Urbana is more than a place to buy produce. It’s a space where neighbors meet, families connect, and community grows right in the heart of our campus. On October 31, we closed our 2025 season with one of our most joyful markets yet. Children arrived in Halloween costumes, Athena Project returned for its third year of incredible performances, and tables overflowed with fresh food from our farm and local vendors.

This season brought new milestones for Huerta Urbana. For the first time, we offered our own farm-fresh honey and eggs, produced just steps from the market. Our farm harvested 2,200 pounds of produce, representing more than 60 different varieties, along with 60 dozen eggs and 30 pounds of honey. In total, the market distributed 31,899 pounds of produce to 721 households, including 420 children, through our pay-what-you-can model.

Among those totals, 7,551 pounds of produce went to families with young children through our weekly Bounty Bags, y 2,271.5 pounds were distributed through our Veggie Valet, a CSA-style program. We also redeemed $64,419 in Market Bucks, which help families pay what they can for produce, hot meals, and pantry items.

We could not do this work without our incredible local vendors, whose dedication brings both flavor and connection to every market.
