Family Support Services

Focus Points offers one-on-one appointments with a Family Support Specialist who can help you engage with resources, services, and tools needed to regain stability through a strengths-based approach.

Walk In- Hours

You can visit us at our center without an appointment during the Fall months on:

Wednesdays between 9:00 AM – 11:45AM and 12:45 PM – 4:00PM and Fridays between 9:00AM – 12:30PM.

Your family deserves support in all areas of their well-being. At Focus Points, we take a strengths-based approach and can help set goals in areas where your family needs support. We offer one-on-one appointments with a Family Support Specialist
who can connect you to the resources you need to meet your goals.

Please review a list of our services and programs below:

Energy Bill Assistance

Your family may be eligible to receive help with past due energy bills through EOC or LEAP. We provide assistance to eligible families. Families can only receive help with their energy bills from Focus Points once.

UPDATE: As of October 1st, 2025, we are able to again start providing utilities assistance through EOC for Excel Energy bills!

Food Access

Focus Points can help you determine your family’s food assistance eligibility and connect you to the resources you need. Many families are eligible for food stamps through SNAP.

For more up-to-date information on food locations, please review our “Food Assistance” list under Resources.

Goal Setting Program

Focus Points offers people assistance in setting goals in their personal lives. This can be getting healthy and fit, finding a new job, becoming a citizen, learning a new language, finding stable housing, or any other goals.

Though goal setting is driven by the participant, Focus Points pairs them with a mentor, helps them set attainable steps to meet their goal, and provides them with resources. Participants meet with their mentors once a month to check progress and meet their goals.

Healthcare Access

We can help individuals and families enroll in health insurance programs. These include Medicaid, CHP+ for children, and emergency Medicaid. Find out if you are eligible for these benefits.

For more up-to-date information on healthcare services, please review our “Healthcare” list under Resources.

Older Adults Programming

We allow for a space for older adults (ages 50 and up) to access services and resources specific to their needs during informative workshops while finding time to socialize and get together over food or go on local field trips.

Please see Monthly Participant Newsletters for upcoming events or go to our News site to see past Participant Newsletters!

Contact our Older Adults specialist for more information.

Youth Programming (Coming Soon!)

We are recruiting middle school to high school youth (ages 12-18) for our Youth Advisory Committee. Help us co-create a responsive youth program that align with your interests and needs. More information to come.

Contact our Associate Director of Strategic Initiatives or call 303-292-0770 if you are interested.

Notary Public (PAUSE)

NOTE: This service is currently on PAUSE.  We hope to be able to provide this again in February 2026 and will update you when it is available.

We offer official notary public service. Having a document notarized is the same as swearing under oath in a court of law—you are saying that the facts contained in the document are true. A notary public is an official appointed by a state government to help deter fraud by witnessing the signing of important documents and verifying the identity of the signer(s), as well as their willingness to sign and awareness of the transaction.

Rental Resource Navigation

NOTE: We offer resource navigation to find agencies close to you that provide rental assistance. Please read below.

Focus Points can help you determine your family’s rental assistance eligibility and connect you to the resources you need. For those living either in the Globeville Elyria-Swansea area (GES) and outside of GES, Focus Points will assist in providing participants with relevant resources to prevent displacement in their correct county including Temporary Rental and Utility Assistance (TRUA) and Denver Human Services.
