How does your donation unlock dreams in the community?

Erika Rojas dreamed of launching a food truck.
Erika was always an excellent chef, but she dreamed of taking her cooking to the next level by turning it into a food truck to support her family. After learning invaluable culinary skills and obtaining the certifications necessary to operate a food business at Comal Heritage Food Incubator, Erika has launched her very own food truck: Prieto’s Catering. Each year, 15 refugees and immigrant are trained in culinary entrepreneurship at Comal.

José dreams of confidently communicating with everyone in his community.
José grew up in a Spanish speaking home. Now a father, he knows that to support his children, he must take his English to the next level. José used to feel nervous talking on the phone and talking to his children’s teachers. Now, José feels more comfortable speaking English. When asked why learning English is so important to him, José says, “I want to learn more so that my children can be a little bit proud of me.” Your gift helps José and 400 students like him take the next step in their education.
