Monthly Awareness
Reconnect, Honor Loved Ones, and
Take Care this November
With November, comes a chance to reconnect. The month begins in the warm glow of lights and marigolds during Días de los Muertos, a time to honor loved ones. As the weeks move on, we gather with friends and family for Thanksgiving and take time to acknowledge Native American Heritage Month and the many Indigenous communities who have shaped this land.
We also recognize our communities’ veterans in honor of Veterans Day and welcome the reminder to focus on health during this American Diabetes Month.
Program Updates

Take our Community Survey!
Focus Points is committed to providing services that you request. We would appreciate you taking some time to complete our Community Survey so that we can learn more about the kinds of support that would best meet your needs. Please click on the links below for either the English or Spanish version of the survey.
You can also fill out this survey when you come to our center during Walk-In Hours on Wednesdays and Fridays.
Celebrating a successful Huerta Urbana Farmers’ Market Season!
Thank you for taking part in this year’s Farmers’ Market which ended on Friday, October 31. If you have any extra vouchers, please bring them back to Focus Points’ front desk as soon as you can. Although the Market is now closed for the season, we are excited to get started with our planning for the next year. Our first step is putting the farm to sleep for winter, leaving the ground alone so it can settle and accumulate all the minerals and nutrients that we need for a bountiful harvest next season.
In December, we will be sharing a link through the newsletter for a community and Farmers’ Market participant experience survey. Our goal is to receive as much feedback as we can for creating a market and space that serves the community better.
Volunteer Opportunities
If you would like to assist us on our urban farm, we always welcome volunteers. Please check out our Spark the Change page for more information. To learn more, contact our Manager of Huerta Urbana.

Congratulations to our PAT Educators Elvira and María!

During the daily meetings and workshops, two of our educators, Elvira and María, were recognized for their twenty-year contributions as in-home early childhood educators to Focus Points families.
